Privacy Policy

This policy explains what GetVPN collects, what it does not, and what choices you have. It covers the GetVPN website at getvpnworld.com and both GetVPN mobile applications: the iOS app and the Android app.

Who we are

The GetVPN service and this website are operated by CodeLabs, Office 1702, 17th Floor, Prime Tower, Business Bay, Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Who publishes each app

The two apps are published under different names on the two stores, and you are entitled to know which entity you are dealing with:

  • The Android app is published on Google Play by CodeLabs.
  • The iOS app is published on the App Store by S E T I GENERAL TRADING L.L.C.

Both apps connect to the same GetVPN servers and are covered by this policy. If you are exercising a data right in connection with the iOS app, write to the address above and we will route it correctly.

The short version

You are anonymous to us, and that is structural rather than a promise. GetVPN has no accounts. There is no sign-up, no email address and no password, so we never receive an identity that your traffic could be attached to. We do not record the websites you visit, your DNS queries, or the contents of your traffic. We do not build browsing profiles, and we have nothing to sell to anyone.

Two things are processed in connection with GetVPN, and we would rather state them here than leave you to discover them: the free Android app is funded by Google advertising, and this website uses Google Analytics. Both are operated by Google under its own terms, both are described in full below, and neither one can see your VPN traffic. A privacy policy claiming absolutely no data processing anywhere is not a policy you should believe from anybody, so we are not making that claim.

Payments are handled entirely by Apple or Google. We never receive your card details.

What we never know about you

  • Who you are. No account, no email address, no password, no name.
  • Where you went. No record of the websites or services you connect to through the VPN.
  • What you looked up. No DNS query logs.
  • What you sent or received. We do not inspect or retain the contents of your traffic.
  • What you did over time. With no identity and no history, there is no profile to assemble.
  • How you paid. Apple and Google confirm that a purchase happened. They do not tell us who made it.

Because there are no accounts, we could not connect activity on a server to a particular person even if we were asked to. That is the difference between a provider promising not to look and one that has nothing to look at.

What the VPN service does not record

When you are connected to a GetVPN server, we do not keep records of the websites or services you connect to, the contents of your traffic, or your DNS queries. We do not build browsing profiles and we do not sell traffic data.

To be straightforward about the limits of that statement: operating a network requires some transient processing. Our servers necessarily handle your traffic in memory in order to route it, and they may hold short-lived operational data such as current connection counts and aggregate bandwidth figures used to keep capacity healthy and to prevent abuse. This information is not used to identify what an individual did.

The Android app: advertising and in-app purchases

The Android app is offered free of charge and is funded by advertising. To display ads, the app includes third-party advertising software supplied by Google. That software may collect and process:

  • your device’s advertising identifier;
  • general device and app information, such as model, operating system version, language and approximate region;
  • information about ad interactions, such as whether an ad was shown or tapped.

This processing is carried out by the advertising provider under its own privacy terms, and the data goes to that provider rather than to us. You can limit it in your device settings: Android allows you to reset or delete your advertising ID, and to opt out of personalised advertising. Doing so does not stop ads appearing, but it limits how they are targeted.

The Android app also offers optional in-app purchases. If you buy one, the transaction is processed by Google Play. We receive confirmation that a purchase was made so that the corresponding feature can be enabled. We do not receive your payment card details.

The iOS app: a single payment, no advertising

The iOS app is a one-time purchase of $5.99. It contains no advertising and no advertising software. The purchase is processed by Apple through the App Store. We receive confirmation of purchase so the app can be unlocked; we do not receive your payment card details, and we do not receive your Apple account credentials.

The website

Our website uses analytics and tag-management services provided by Google in order to understand which pages are useful and how the site performs. These services set cookies and process information such as pages viewed, approximate location derived from IP address, referring site, and browser and device characteristics.

The site also includes advertising-related scripts from Google. If you would rather not be measured, most browsers allow you to block cookies and scripts from third parties, and the site remains usable with them blocked.

The latency measurement on our home page works by making small requests from your browser to each of our servers and timing them. Those requests carry no personal information beyond what any web request necessarily includes, and the results are calculated and displayed in your browser. We do not store them.

If you contact us through the form on our support page, we receive the name, email address and message you provide, and we use them only to answer you.

Where your data goes

GetVPN operates servers in the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, India, the United Kingdom, Germany and the United States. When you connect to a region, your traffic is routed through that country. Our company is based in the United Arab Emirates, and information handled by us may be processed there.

Where a third party such as an advertising, analytics or app-store provider is involved, that provider may transfer information to other countries under its own terms.

Your rights

If you are in the United Kingdom or the European Economic Area, data protection law gives you the right to ask what personal data is held about you, to have inaccurate data corrected, to have data erased, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to receive a copy of data you provided. You also have the right to complain to your national data protection authority.

Because we do not operate user accounts and do not log your activity, in most cases we simply do not hold personal data about you that could be retrieved. Where a request concerns advertising data collected by our advertising provider, that request is generally best directed to the provider, and we will help you identify the right route.

How long anything is kept

Operational data used to keep the network running is short-lived and is not retained beyond what is needed for that purpose. Support correspondence is kept for as long as needed to deal with the matter and a reasonable period afterwards. Data collected by advertising and analytics providers is retained according to their own policies.

Children

GetVPN is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will remove it.

Security

Traffic between your device and our servers is encrypted. Our servers are access-controlled and kept patched. No system is perfectly secure, and we do not claim otherwise, but we take reasonable technical measures appropriate to the service.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page. Significant changes will be highlighted on the website.
